Earth Build-by-Hand-With-Little-Tools

It could possibly take some time for some to plan out an earth built home so working on a material list is a good idea. There is a link to a spreadsheet file to download in the Resource tab/page.
Good planning can establish an economical earthen-homestead just about anywhere and can even reduce chore time around the homestead.
NATURAL EARTH MATERIAL HOMES
Types of natural material built homes include Adobe homes, Puddle-Adobe homes. Cob homes, Rammed Earth homes, Earthberm homes, Earthbag homes, Earthship (earth-packed tire) homes, Cordwood homes, and Strawbale homes.
• Adobe homes are made of sub-soil (sand, silt and clay), straw, and water.
• Puddled adobe homes are made of soil, adobe plaster, sand, gravel, river cobbles, timber, screened clay, and water.
• Cob homes are made of sub-soil, straw, lime, and water.
• Rammed Earth homes are made of sand, silt, clay, gravel, and often cement.
• Earthberm homes can be made of concrete, masonry, steel, wood, and tires.
• Earthbag homes are made of barbed wire, Plasters mix of mud, clay and sand, and lime, Wooden and tires.
• Cordwood homes are made of whole or split wood logs, lime treated sawdust insulation or other insulative material, mortar, and a vapor barrier.
• Strawbale homes are made of first floor base, foundation footings, framing wood or metal, roof, straw bale, plaster the walls, windows and doors, and paint.
